Flashback Friday: Presidential Blues

Remember Arsenio Hall? In the wake of the closing of the DNC last night, let me take you back to one of the moments remembered as the "lauching" of President Bill Clinton during his first campaign for office...jamming on the sax.

"If this music thing doesn't work out, you can always run for President."

  1. ah, the good old days, when we were innocent, terror-free, and all you had to do to get elected President was play a few bars on the ole' sax.

Obama seems like more of a bass man to me, and McCain - nope, I got nothin'.

  2. It was part of the whole 'motivate the kids' campaign; appearing on Arsenio, the MTV 'boxers or briefs' town hall meeting, the Bush Sr.-mocked meeting with Bono of U2 (GHWB replied that he was going to meet up with Boy George later or something along those lines) all resulted in a landslide victory that was due in no small part to the record number of young adult college-age voters.

  3. Jeez, Ryan, must you always come in here and give a commentary on things I do know, but simply leave out as relatively irrelevant? :)

Feel free to comment. So that I may respond and possibly mock and ridicule you. Just kidding. Maybe. We'll see what you say first, how about that.
