Rhyme and Treason results!

And here we go with the compilation of the entries and the announcement of the winner.

Last weeks winner Brian in Oxford shoots us this bon mot, though with little confidence:
"Plutocracy sure blows!"

My favorite antagonist Deborah throws down with:
"With a pie cherry still stuck up its nose."

Everyone's favorite Aussie jack-of-all-trades and blogosphere godfather David McMahon contributes with: " With a digital SLR camera, and asked me to pose."
and
"Bart wants this to rhyme, I suppose"

pope terry (I'll answer your questions in a couple days, dude) goes for the gusto with:
"and sprayed her with a hose...
cue the cheesy seventies wah wah music,
and enter a man with a big moustache,
'your all wet miss' "

Then victorya one ups him with this novella:
"that was tagged with a research receiver from National Geographic as it was one of the few remaining due to the recent blackbird pie fad. The maid, upon seeing the blackbird called for the cook who came forth and, luring the bird to him with some sesame seeds, and captured it for a future supper. The researchers noticed the constancy of the locator and sent forth an investigator. Arriving at the castle, the investigator was appalled to discover numerous violations. There was Panda stew, smoked albatross, not to mention the stuffed tigers. The King was brought to court, sued, and in lieu of jail-time paid through the nose."

Getting all scatological on our backsides is whodatdare with:
"And dropped a deuce upon her nose"

And last, but not least, is cherty werty (I just never feel like trying to spell it out, sue me) with:
"Dessert was Crow Surprose."
and
"And threatened to foreclose."
and
"That's all. I'm otiose."

This was a toughie. I really have to say. But after much deliberation I have decided to bestow this weeks award to:

POPE TERRY!
The porn reference really "nailed" that home, buddy. Congrats be to you.

And congrats be to all of you participants.

While I have you here, I could use some assistance. See, Jessie and I decided to get a new kitten tonight. I know, we no nuts, we crazy. Well, I'm looking for a more esoteric name. The kitten is female. She has a tendency to want to perch on shoulders so I thought maybe a piratey name, but I'll be happy with something off the beaten path.

Also, wish us luck, because while Elmo seems to pretty much be all "oh, another cat, whatever," Annie isn't taking it as well.

I Have Weird Pets

So, you pretty much knew that.

However, I'm gonna nail it home for you all. I was planning on talking about Elmo getting in to a box of Raisinettes. But then, normal behavior (for my pets anyway) behavior kicked in and I couldn't resist.

Both my cat and dog like to be in the bathroom with me when I'm "taking care of business."

See, when The Queen isn't home, I'll keep the door open. Don't ask my why or how I've picked up that habit, I simply have. Well anyway, I'm not surprised in the slightest about Elmo getting his face in there. With the door open, he'll bug you in any room. It's Annie that surprises me.

Simply because it seems like she's attracted...to the smell. Because she doesn't follow me in...she'll find her way in after a couple of minutes have passed. And then lay there and stare up at me. And as soon as the lever is depressed and everything is flushed away, she gets up and saunters away.

Like I said, I've got weird pets.

Slightly Tapped

Aaaand...I've got nothing. The well is slightly dry at the moment folks, but don't worry, I'm sure I'll be back and better than ever in no time. So, for now, Elmo and Annie, doing their best "evil space alien" impressions. In a rare moment when they're close and Annie isn't swiping Elmo away...

PS...he's yawning.

In the Interests of Equal and Fair Time:

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Tonight, we have a very special interview. This time with Annie the Cat. Once again, I'll shall be providing translation for you all who don't speak Feliniean.

Bart: Thanks for being here, Annie.

Annie: Make this quick. I have napping to do.

Bart: I've been known to refer to you and Elmo as Garfield and Odie. What do you think about that?

Annie: That's ludicrous. I'm not orange. I do not eat lasagna. I actually kind of like Mondays. Elmo, on the other hand, makes an excellent Odie.

Bart: Why do you swipe at him all the time?

Annie: I can't yell at him, like you do. Not that he listens to you. Or remembers I have claws.

Bart: Why do you like to lay on our magazines and books so much, when we lay them down on the couch, or bed?

Annie: Your books and magazines?

Bart: Yeah, we bought them.

Annie: Of course you bought them. For me.

Bart: I don't really think...

Annie: Of course you don't. Silly man. Everything you do is for my benefit. *sniff*

Bart: Interesting concept. Next time you get antsy for food, maybe I won't fill your bowl up to your liking. How's that sound?

Annie: That's dirty pool. It's bad enough you let that slobbering thing eat my food...

Bart: Simply trying to point out an obvious fact of life.

Annie: You bore me. Excuse me, I see a fleck of light on the ground.

This is where the interview sadly ended, as Annie found the fleck of light highly addictive.
