Also, special Labor Day edition!
You know the rules, but since it's been awhile, let me refresh: I'm posting up some sort of lyric or poem or what not. I leave a blank space. You fill that in by via the comment section. Then, on Friday, I play judge and tell everyone who is the best.
Let us work today with an excerpt from Walt Whitman (I...HATE...YOU...WALT....FREAKIN'...WHITMAN! LEAVES OF GRASS MY ASS! - thanks Homer) and his magnum opus "Song of Myself."
Blacksmiths with grimed and hairy chests environ the anvil,
Each has his main-sledge, they are all out, there is great heat in the fire.
From the conder-strew'd threshold I follow their movements,
The lithe sheer of their waists plays even with their massive arms,
Overhand the hammers swing, overhand so slow, overhand so sure,
They do not hasten, ...
readygo.

...and the whole world blows up.
ReplyDeletethe circle jerk goes round.
ReplyDelete(bart, I couldn't resist, delete this if you so choose)
God, I'm a homo! (Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course)
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't either, if your lunch was just pawpaw
ReplyDeleteAnd the cooks began the chorus: ``Please STIR, can I have some more?''
ReplyDeleteHail to the Queen! She rocks!

ReplyDelete...and nor do I. Do I irritate them? Very well then I irritate them.
ReplyDelete(I have all day, I annoy multitudes).
Posting something for you in a few hours ....
ReplyDeleteG'day Bart-Man,
ReplyDeleteAs you probably know, I look upon you in the manner of an older brother watching out for a younger sibling, so please don't take this advice amiss.
You mentioned that you occasionally have writer's block. So? So get out that camera of yours - and post some pictures on this blog.
I'd hate to see a writer with as much talent as you, losing readers simply because you haven't been updating your site. OK, so it's hard to write posts sometimes - but use your camera to fill the gaps.
Just post a picture with a caption - and you'll be fine.
Lemme know what you think
Keep smiling
David
Oh, that's right. (What David said) Where you been keeping that camera? Those stump shots in your yard were quite interesting.
